Indiana Farm Bureau Agricultural Land Use & Zoning School

  • Janzen Schroeder Agricultural Law LLC 8425 Keystone Crossing Suite 111 Indianapolis, IN, 46240 United States (map)

As part of this virtual seminar, Brianna will discuss three land use topics that seem to be everywhere these days. Solar power in Indiana is a controversial topic for neighbors, lawmakers, and county officials. Learn how land use rules impact solar project development. Likewise, carbon capture and storage projects are popping across the state and country. Technology and zoning don’t always advance at the same speed, so we will discuss whether and how land use ordinances interact with subsurface pore space usage. Finally, home rule is a perennial issue here in Indiana. Learn more about how this doctrine restricts local officials from enacting rules that contradict state law.
